Started by the same business and technology wizards who created Sonicare, Clarisonic had a well-established position as an innovative provider of premium skin care products.With tens of millions in revenue and a passionately loyal customer base (including Oprah), Clarisonic came to Produxs for a site redesign intended to dramatically upgrade its image and lay the foundation for international expansion online.More specifically, Clarisonic marketing execs had three goals:
- Improve user experience and more effectively surface and tell the stories of Clarisonic’s phenomenally well-satisfied customers.
- Improve sales of key strategic products – namely certain consumables.
- Improve sitewide eCommerce conversion rate.
Our research identified pain points for customers seeking product information, reviews and research, and also during the final purchasing process. Using a strategic mix of education and engagement with the Clarisonic brand and community, Produxs developed a new design and User Experience that, among many other things:
- Leveraged existing product reviews and studies to increase customer trust.
Identified and elevated content most influential in terms of purchase – testimonials, before and after photos, videos and demonstrations.
- Enabled users to more easily identify the Clarisonic product that is best for their needs.
- Effectively surfaced complementary products that Clarisonic wanted to promote.
- Streamlined the purchase path and checkout process.
The net result of all the Clarisonic eCommerce Redesign work? An increase in eCommerce conversion rate of 58% within 30 days of launch. Oh, and those key products Clarisonic wanted us to promote – sales are up by as much as 300%.
